(Moncton, NB: February 16th, 2018)
The Moncton Magic hosted the Halifax Hurricanes Friday night as part of a 6-game home stretch, in which they are 2-1.
A very pink Coliseum crowd, in support of the Breast Cancer Society, caught a now not-so-rare glimpse of an energy infused Magic team. They held the lead for most of the game but lost 87-86 in a last overtime second decision.
Despite some offensive challenges in the 4th Moncton had a few high scorers and overall, a very involved team.
Terry Thomas topped the box score on Saturday finishing with 25 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists. He was awarded player of the game for these numbers along with his 3 steals and 2 blocks.
Corey Allmond was next up, hitting 5 threes and shooting 5/5 from the line he ended with 20 points. Also active at the net, Jeremy Williams and Anthony Anderson grabbed 11 and 13 rebounds respectively.
Tyrone Watson, Billy White, and Antoine Mason created most of the Hurricanes offence; they had 19, 18, and 17 points.
The Magic now host the Saint John Riptide Saturday February 17th 7:00pm at the Coliseum, then break until February 25th when Halifax will return for another shot.
