Eastern Division Finals: Moncton (2nd) vs Halifax (1st)
(Halifax, NS: April 21st, 2018)
The Moncton Magic were in Halifax Saturday night to play game two of the Atlantic Division Finals. The first of this series happened Thursday, where after a strong Magic start the home Hurricanes team made a slow and steady comeback to a 107-97 win. The Winner of this series will go on to play the Central Division champions, currently being determined by the London Lightening and St John's Edge.
The Hurricanes truly took advantage of home court and ran through game two. Their offensive efforts were at a high caliber from the beginning and gave them a massive lead from the get-go. That push created an unrecoverable deficit for the Magic, which led to the 121-79 win for Halifax.
With the loss came some poor numbers for Moncton, although they did see five players to double-digits. Juan Pattillo led the comeback attempt with 14, followed by Corey Allmond, Jason Calliste, Brent Jennings, and Anthony Cox; in that order those players had 13,12,11 and 10 points for the Magic. Of those, Jason Calliste was selected as the Magic's Player of the Game; he put up 5 rebounds and as assist on top of his points for the visitors.
Antoine Mason, Tyrone Watson, Billy White, and Mike Poole played the largest roles in the winning offense. Mason, and Watson topped the box score with 25 and 22 points respectively for Halifax.
This series will now come to NB to play games three and four at the Moncton Coliseum, both tip off at 7:00 pm, Tuesday the 24th and Thursday the 26th.
