Back to winning, the Moncton Magic bounce back after a disappointing Game 1 loss on home court. As predicted, the Magic entered Game 2 with much more intensity and aggression. Although Halifax was again victorious on the offensive glass, Moncton outshot the Hurricanes from a percentage standpoint. That being said, Moncton has evened up the series 1-1, protecting home court against the Halifax Hurricanes, 96-88.

Players that you hate on opposing teams but love when their on your team. Nick Evans is the definition of that as the 6'10" center continues to regain his rhythm, consistency, and trust from the coaching staff after a wrist injury caused him to miss the final 12 games of the regular season. He brings length, hustle, and aggressiveness, making him a vital piece of Moncton's frontcourt success. Evans finished with 12 points, 7 rebounds, and knocked down two three-pointers.

It's no secret anymore, San Diego State breeds hard-nosed players. The two former Aztecs Trey Kell and Billy White combined for 50 of the Magic's 96 points. Trey Kell totaled 28 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. Not to mention, he went 15-15 from the charity stripe. He is currently shooting 95% (39-41) from the free-throw line in postseason play. Needless to say, Kell capitalizes on freebies. While Billy White finished with 22 points and 3 rebounds, including an impressive and important AND1 finish over Rhamel Brown, allowing Moncton to recapture momentum late in the fourth quarter.

For the Halifax Hurricanes, sharp shooter, Mike Poole led the way with 22 points and a notable 12 rebounds. Terry Thomas finished with 20 points, 2 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals. Chadrack Lufile recorded 15 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists. While Rhamel Brown contributed with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks.

A bit of a layover, however, the Atlantic Division Finals between the Moncton Magic and Halifax Hurricanes will resume at Scotiabank Centre on Saturday, April 27that 7pm. With the series tied at one game apiece, expect an immense amount of intensity as neither team wants to give the other an edge.
